HALLOWEEN

Halloween is an ancient pagan festival. People used to believe that it was the night that witches flew and that horrible beasts and monsters walked around.
Lanterns would be lit all night to keep evil spirits away.
Good spirits were kept happy with food and warmth.
Halloween used be to known as the 'Festival of the Dead'.
Christians changed the name to Halloween, meaning 'All Hallows' Eve'.
It comes just before 'All Saints' Day' (1st November) and 'All Souls' Day' (2nd November). This period marks the beginning of winter.

AN ENGLISH PLAY

Last Thursday, June 10th, it has been the first time we've performed a play in English. The actors and actresses were 5th level children. They did it very well and it was a success.
The play was "Games" by Xevi Font and Montse Vilà was our director. Rachael Todt helped us with the pronuntiation.
Thanks to them all!!

English Day

Last Thursday it was the English morning in our school.
We started with a play: Robin Hood by IPA Productions. The actors were really good and it was quite understable.

After that, students from 5 and 6 year and some students from the UVic, organised games for children from p5 to 4th level:What's the time Mr Wolf?, We're going on a bear hunt...
We also had a typical American breakfast. Year 3 pupils made delicious peanutbutter sandwiches for everybody... Yummy!

An interview with Rachael

Mosaic made from pictures of the school

Pau, Sira, Àlex, Ariadna and Júlia interviewed Rachael Todt.
Rachael is our conversation assistant. She helps children and teachers with their vocabulary, speaking skills and pronuntiation. She also has brought some knowledge about American culture traditions and customs. We are all very grateful for her contributions and help.
